Cost Per Use Calculator

The only honest price tag: what each use actually costs.

Price divided by uses is the honest tag. A cheap thing used twice can cost more per use than an expensive thing used weekly, which is the arithmetic behind both a good coat and a bad gym membership.

It works best on things you have owned for a while, where the number of uses is a fact rather than an intention.

  • Uses per week2
  • Years you'll keep it2
Example results
Cost per use$0.58 $120 ÷ 208 uses (2/week over 2 years)
Cost per month of ownership$5
The honest comparison: is one use worth $0.58 to you? A $120 coat worn 100 times costs $1.20 a wear; $40 shoes worn twice cost $20 a wear. Price tags lie; cost-per-use doesn't.
Works in reverse for cutting: a $34/month gym used twice is $4.25 a visit; decide if THAT's the price you'd pay at the door.
