Debt Payoff Calculator

Up to six debts: snowball vs. avalanche, payoff dates, total interest, and what +$25 to +$250 a month changes.

Two orders, one pot of money. Avalanche pays the highest interest rate first and costs the least in total interest. Snowball pays the smallest balance first, which costs a little more but closes accounts sooner, and some people keep going with it when they would have stopped otherwise.

Minimum payments are usually a percentage of the balance, so they shrink as the balance does. That is what makes minimum-only repayment so slow: the payment falls just as fast as the debt, and the finish line keeps moving.

At minimum payments alone, at least one balance never pays off; the rollover plan is the exit.
Avalanche saves $108 in interest; snowball clears 'Store card' first for the early win. The best method is the one you'll still run in month eight.
