Hourly Wage → Annual Salary

What an hourly rate means by the year, month and paycheck.

An hourly rate becomes an annual figure through hours and weeks, and the weeks box is where unpaid time shows up. Fifty-two weeks assumes you are paid for every week of the year; if time off is unpaid, or hours are cut in a slow season, the real figure is lower than the headline rate suggests.

Switch Show to after tax and the calculator estimates take-home using the 2026 federal brackets and the standard deduction (IRS Revenue Procedure 2025-32), plus Social Security at 6.2% up to $184,500 of wages and Medicare at 1.45% on all of them.

It stops there on purpose. State and local income tax, health insurance premiums, retirement contributions and anything else your employer deducts vary far too much to guess at, so a real paycheck will be smaller than the after-tax figure here.

Only used for the after-tax figures.
